Got back from New Year in Cologne (pleasantly devoid of TV or internet) to find that Palace had won away at WBA. We parked the car at Ebbsfleet and went on Eurostar which we found preferable to flying or driving. I have enjoyed dipping into my BaL recommended Kubelik Parsifal which had arrived in my absence. Kurt Moll great as my namesake.

Evening all Sunday nighters. Trust everybody has left the post-Christmas blues behind and are raring to go into the second week of the year? No, me neither
Had a £90 win on the horses at the weekend so pondering on what CDs to buy."The sound is the handwriting of the conductor" - Bernard Haitink

Evening Sunday nighters. Board seems a bit quiet of late, perhaps missing the absence of salymap, hornspieler, Roehre, BBM and Anna (all temporary I hope).
A 4 day week at work coming as I have a meet up with friends on Friday so that puts me in a better mood than is usual for a Sunday night. Had another £90 win on the ponies yesterday so CD boxed sets beckon again. Should be taking delivery this week of the van Beinum Bruckner set out tomorrow on Eloquence so all in all not a bad week ahead."The sound is the handwriting of the conductor" - Bernard Haitink

Sounds like a decent week in prospect, Pet. happy shopping!!
yep , board is a bit quiet. Maybe as you say, missing few folks, and also a quietish time on the live music scene, Perhaps.
I'm contemplating a trip up to the RFH on Thursday for some more Brahms.Don't have a ticket , but there are plenty available, and the weather looks kind. Also tempted by the Dutoit Ravel in a few weeks time.
Just lining up that Colin Matthews Premiere from a week or so back.I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own.

Lovely lazy Sunday. Cooked lunch for a friend, trying out a new recipe - duck breast with chorizo and spiced vegetables. We also cut a Sachertorte I baked yesterday - high nom factor. Our chief weapon is surprise...surprise and fear...fear and surprise.... Our two weapons are fear and surprise...and ruthless efficiency....

Sorry I'm late folks.
Busy afternoon (grandchildren and dogs)then pulled up the drawbridge, shut myself away, sent Mrs ER off to do the ironing and listened to Bach's St Matthew Passion for the first time.
(John Eliot Gardiner/English Baroque Soloists et al).
Phew,heads gone,in a good way,and I'm not a religious person,I don't believe in god,and yet this music ?.....
Anyways sounds like we've all had a good Sunday.
