Would have been Bruch Violin Concerto and the New World Symphony.

Don't know much about the Czech National Symphony Orchestra. Had the cash machine at the petrol station worked at 6pm I fancy I would have made the 21 mile journey and bought a ticket on the door. I hate setting off with only £12 on my person with very little time in hand to remedy the position.

I did have a spa afternoon in Suffolk so was pushing it a bit to do both.

Never seen the New World live. Must remedy that.
Got something to look forward to Tuesday, OAE playing Mozart, Mendelssohn VC and LVB 8.

            Nice.
I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own.

Same to you chuck, hope you have a good one.
No tree or decs yet here, another 10 days or so.
Our grandkids can't understand why as the tree at my daughter's house has been up a week already.

I have a lot of time for Jonesey,it's a shame.

When I was growing up the tradition was that the tree went up on The Sunday of BBC Sports Personality of the Year.

                So 15 December it is.

A brilliant organ recital on R3 tonight.

Thanks, ts. Came through the other side ok. There were some 200 people at my father's funeral, testament to his popularity in the town and a good number considering so many relatives and friends have long gone. The Town Band were simply magnificent and the Last Post at the end was a quite wonderful moment, one to treasure. Must have been one of the biggest funerals our town has seen for a very long time. We believe that he was the last Second World War veteran in the town.

It's onwards and upwards from now as life goes on as the cliché has it. Christmas preparations have necessarily been disrupted so need to get back on track with that. Ditto the music!

                      Good to read that Pet.

Some boxed sets surely beckon now.

Did you see the Bernard Haitink LPO set of Beethoven Symphonies ?

Have only been able to locate it on Presto.

Yes, I did indeed see that Haitink set and have ordered it, despite the price tag, as a Christmas present to self.

Evening Sunday nighters! It might seem a tad early (it is, I know, but it's the best we could do) I've got the day off tomorrow to have Christmas lunch with friends and after a tough two weeks am looking forward to it if not quite feeling as yet in the festive spirit. Trying to get four people together at a time that suits all is a logistical nightmare and Dec 9 was the only date possible.
