Rob, Probably offtopic - but how are Alfie and Meg? Are they settled, part of the family now?

      Bad news.

does listening to Rach Symphony #2 as comfort music under such circumstances make a person bad?
      Thats what I'm doing anyway.

Keen also to know how Er's doggies are doing.

Thanks for asking Anna and ts.
They have settled in like a dream.
Brilliant around the grandkids, fine with other dogs they meet when we're out and about, cats are a problem though, they hate 'em.
Meg was a little off her food at first, probably pining a bit,but she's fine now.
Two different characters,Meg is happy to find a quiet corner and sleep,Alfie craves attention and follows me amd Mrs ER around constantly.
He's a bit naughty too, loves pinching socks and tea towels then takes them out into the garden or hides them in his bed.
Always got his head in the kitchen bin too.

Sorry to hear about Lou Reed, Anna. His music was obviously important to you.
I have to confess that i never really got him at all, apart from the first Velvets album. But he was a real hero to many of my mates. One of those people I always wanted to like, but it wouldn't happen.

                .
Not in my opinion, TS, because I have two types of listening at my disposal: outside my comfort zone - music that requires concentrated listening, eg Eliot Carter; and music right inside my comfort zone, eg RVW, that allows me to imagine what music would ideally be like in a more civilised world.

Thats kind of where I am. Like the " civilised world" thought.
I suppose I think of them as "music i have come to terms with " or "music I would like to come to terms with".

(here is also music outside of these groups, but there are only so many hours, and so much patience.....)

Looks like everyone is down the pub.
Rainy night in for me, with some french violin Sonatas and David Grimal.

                      Physics.

Innumerable Sundays were ruined because I hadn't done my physics homework. Mondays are only used as deadlines by psychopaths.

Two questions ( homework?) to see who was listening to R3 today:
1 Who was reputed to have been great fun down the pub?
2 What was the last squawk from a dying brat?
