I was out last night but listening on iplayer I was impressed by Nige's Lark . No tossed off pretty, vacuous rendering this .

Redolent of Adlestrop , a summer languorous with heat and a lark soaring with effort and effect . A really thought provoking rendition.

I agree. Unlike most on here, I hadn't heard The Lark Ascending before last night for quite some time and I found Nigel Kennedy's rendition very beautiful indeed.

The day after the LNOP, I always feel as though in a bit of a vacuum. ~Anyone else?

Somewhat less than used to be the case. I am happy to move on.

Same here - as ever, looking forward to proper concert halls! Wigmore this Wednesday and then a nice selection of further Wigmore, RFH and Barbican visits in the pipeline

Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

And the tighter acoustics provide a refreshing contrast.

Same here as well. I've got the Abbado/Orchestra Mozart concert on October 1 to look forward to but lack of sufficient holiday time at work has scuppered plans to attend the LSO/Haitink concerts later in October .

Plenty of CD's to catch up on though!

Oh dear. I think BH, LSO and DSCH 4 is a must ! Especially after no BH promenade Concert.

Looked too good to be true - Argerich has substituted her old staple of Beethoven 1 for K271 .

Then again her performance of Beethoven 1 in Manchester this summer was sublime.

I would have preferred the later concert with the Shostakovich 15 but failed to spot it before booking for the Abbado concert. I've now got three days holiday left at work and they are all earmarked for Christmas time.
