Talking about Tony Bliar, his son Euan is getting married, reception to be held at one of the Bliar's £4m mansions ... he's done awfully well for a Socialist, I'll give him that
Young Euan has form for over-celebrating in London's Leicester Square, I recall.

How are property prices in Bristle doing, I wonder french frank?

I ahve difficulty, even, in imagining how I would put my hands up and at the same time, lie on the ground whether it was for some fag or by order of the police.

I imagine that the Princely language used on the occasion turned the air in that part of SW1 a very interesting shade of blue...

It must be quite tempting for the police to 'have a bit of fun' & then apologise after. Guarding Buck House could get a bit boring.

Am I alone in thinking that Andrew resembles his ma in the lower part of his face?

You're not suggesting flippantly a Pleb-Gate type scenario I hope, Flossie.

There are some members who take that sort of thing very seriously

We'll have no flippancy here, thank you!

Evening all. Pleased to see the unusually early start to tonight's chat.

Are you prommed out or missing it all already ?

Caught up with the Bruckner 8 at tea time. Mostly ok to good with Maazel too heavy handed in (iii).

gonna miss the Proms, I guess. Pity they didn't carry on this week, as I have to be in The Smoke on Thursday.

Lets hope Ricky and Roy's other brave lads can get a point in Ukraine. Will be a tough task, I think.

Autumn. Lets enjoy the good things. had a quick listen to " Breakfast " today.

The DJ was bemoaning us "hurtling headlong into winter". Give us a break.
                    Under rated, Autumn.

Good evening Alison and ts,nice to see so many new members of the Sunday club.

The Proms, nah, still not enough British Symphonies for my liking.
What on earth has happened to the last night.Time was when there used to be a decent mini concert in the first half.
Nigel Kennedy's Lark Ascending was sublime though.
Did you like my poem btw?.

Evening all. Proms are over and for the first time in a month I have a full working week ahead I'd got used to taking Friday off and catching the train down to London and making my way to the Albert Hall. Running dangerously short of holidays now and need them for visiting friends, Christmas etc. Such is working life!

I made nowhere near the same amount of CD purchases down in London as I usually do but have some to catch up with in the weeks ahead with some bought in London and some from Presto or Amazon. Most looking forward to Bernard Haitink - the Philips Years. I dithered over purchasing this as the duplication is considerable but it will be a joy to hear his Bruckner 8 and Mahler 6 & 9 on one CD per symphony. On top of that there is the Schubert 9 and Haydn symphonies.

I also purchased Kempe's 1960 Bayreuth Ring (very cheap on Presto) and the 10CD Membran Kubelik set. Plenty to keep me occupied until the traditional Christmas CD splurge.

20 in the Haitink, 10 in the Kubelik plus 9 in the Kempe Ring - the Gotterdammerung is in the Wagner's Vision box of 50 CD's which I bought for my birthday most of which I've yet to hear. So a total of - let me see - 89 CD's to tide me over till Christmas .
