All rather irksome, but had a fabulous day at middle sprogs graduation in Canterbury Cathedral today, so can't complain. I honestly can't think of a better venue anywhere. And glorious weather and a good brass ensemble playing fanfares.
    Congratulations

    It's a great achievement ....... was it a music degree ?
(I have heard that it is possible to do other subjects but that seems a little ridiculous to me )

Still struggling with non existent broadband etc. Missing proms banter..and indeed the proms pretty much .

Thanks for all your congrats to middle sprog, I shall pass them on to him. To answer gongers, no, his degree was History...a family failing !!
Wish I had done music !! At least he can pay the cello to a decent standard.

I have to say that he really flourished at university after having been somewhat "written off" by certain folk earlier on. A real lesson in giving people time to develop.
Anyway, keep the board warm till I can join in properly, which is 10 days away at least.
5 days in bruges coming up. Nice, but can't find a concert to go to.
            Cheers.

Well done ts - and a credit to yourself, I've no doubt. Fwiw I didn't manage to make a mark of any importance on the world until I was 53!

... very happy to report that I have reached 61 and still haven't "managed to make a mark of any importance on the world".

Well, iot's a lovely Sunday evening and there is one programme on Radio 3 that I always find most enjoyable, at this time and that is Words and Music. This evening's programme has the theme permeating it's way through about the undersea world and Neptune.

Sunday Nighters all out walking Dogs, soaking up some last rays and a G and T it seems !!

I'll have to give that show a whirl sometime , BBM.

A weeks hols for me, off to sample the cultural delights of Bruges . Can't find a concert to go to, hoping something might turn up. I hear they do beer and choccies.....and there is a museum of chips. French fried, not silicon. Oh Boy.
Missing a weeks solid Wagner at the proms, but my new"Ring" box set will do for now.
Going to give old Wagner a real good go, see if I can figure what I am missing.

Yup, just a few dozen Russian symphonies later, and here we are again......

Successfully tackled a broadband issue of my own, vanished cat found and just a little sunbathing bring me to yet another Sunday evening.

Enjoyed the Ades Prom this afternoon.

At least Silvestrov has only written 7 so far.
