Bad luck at Naas Pet. Just think of your pension lump sum!!

So many different moods in the Mahler 4iii, quite exquisite at times. Solti brings something surprisingly tender to the table! I don’t know his Concertgebouw recording.

Good evening all hope you are well.
I wondered how you guys were coping without the racing.
Lots of horse jokes doing the rounds.

It turns out Humans can catch equine flu.
      It’s similar to hay fever.
The symptoms start with a sore throat, nagging headache and you feel a little hoarse, then you get the trots,it doesn’t last furlong, then your condition becomes stable.
      the Scottish cure does’neigh work.
      I could go on

A big thank you to the Cloughmeister for recommending the VPO/Abbado Mahler 4 on another thread recently, a recording I didn’t know. How many stars did it get in the Penguin Guide I wonder. Did I let received wisdom put me off? At all events I don’t remember the Berlin remake being as involving.

I was moved to dig out the Mahler 4 from the Solti Chicago box and thought that was pretty impressive too, beautifully played lower strings.
I was with The Toon and Seagulls. Grr! I haven’t heard that recording of Mahler 4.
