Cheers Edgey. I feel in a very british music mood, normally do around Easter.

Wonder which piece of Holst Sainty was playing.

it was the disc from the British Symphonic Collection.

            Symphony in F. The Cotswolds.
            Walt Whitman Overture.
            Hampshire Suite.
            The Perfect Fool.
            Bostock/ Munich SO.
            Interesting and enjoyable disc.

Inspired by last weeks COTW. Don't know much of his stuff apart from the obvious.

Lots of folk with Easter time off it seems... beyond the regulation bank holidays.
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
                  Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Sounds like a good way to spend late April Cals. More news on neglected French composers coming our way?

I'm just using a couple of days hols to make up some long weekends...I quite like that way of using some of my hols that way, especially in the spring and summer.
And it gets me in the mood for my long awaited move to a four day week...one day.......soon........hopefully......

Have a great break Alison and anybody else who is off.....hope the weather is kind.

Let's hope Pet enjoyed his evening of Mozart and Mahler at the Barbican tonight.

But for being on hols in Norfolk I might well have been there.
