Yes, feel right smug about it! Backed a 10/1 winner in the 2.35 yesterday and got 3rd each way at 20/1 in the 2000 Guineas.

Finished the decorating. Licking wounds from conceding late goal at spuds looking forward to day off wishing I could be at the Oval to see Hants tomorrow enjoying some interesting music.

Well done on the nags, Pet. Nice to see the bookies money heading towards good causes !

Helps to pay for all those CD's! Bought my Samsung Smart TV last year courtesy of the bookies.

I had RVW and Bridge last night, after a rather good afternoon, of which i have mentioned in Stormy Weather thread.

Now, I'm sure it says a lot about me, but I read that as a "Guiness" weekend - which sounds pretty good!

But congratulations, Pet - enjoy spending it!

No big win for me this weekend, alas. The poor weather resulted in too many non-runners taken out at the last minute.

Monday morning looms again already. I have a new boss starting tomorrow but have Tuesday off to meet up with friends so should be an interesting week what with York races as well.

Any tips from Alison for York?

Best of luck with the new boss, Petrushka, because at one place I worked I was never able to discover whether or not I was any good at any job; each new boss had an opposite view of myself and my efforts, either wanting rid of me or lavishing praise on me.

I see that Ataraxis is entered for the 6.25 at Newmarket on this coming Wednesday, the 16th. Wondered if there was still some confidence behind this one?

probably shows you were doing things well !!

I try to ignore them and do the actual job, while they faff around promoting each other and grabbing all the money and reorganising structures...

                          Back to that tomorrow morning.
More bad news is that all my Myaskovsky CDs are stranded at the garage in my poorly motor. Still "Absence"...etc.

This is pretty much my philosophy as well. This particular one is a big contrast to my previous boss. For one thing, she's female and, moreover, damn near half my age! When I started work she wasn't even born! The Peter Principle is followed in our company as a rule (isn't it always?) so it could be interesting.

( a tip for york might go down well.....)
