I'm listening to the Sunday Feature now on the ideas that shaped the Baroque, which is all about the architecture, and reminds me how much I hate that while I love the music.
What is it that you hate about baroque architecture?
Apparently, we're in for another wretched themed month on Radio 3. Nothing wrong with a theme, whatsoever, but when New Radio 3 goes out to parrot their glories on these occasions they reach such abysmally low levels of crassness; and worst of all, they'll spend the entire four weeks trailing, re-trailing and trailing again every cringeworthy moment of it.
The trailers are indeed crass and bothersome. But it's far from an 'immersion' month... I personally could do with a sight more baroque this week, to save hearing some of the trite non-baroque stuff that still seemed to infest 'Breakfast'.
More baroque I say!! It would have saved us from that stupid Gounod 'Marionettes' thing a few days after it cropped up on CotW, and the two bites of silly operetta music that I've heard today, the second of which got the radio switched off.
More baroque please, Radio 3!!
(The Egarr / AAM Handel organ concerto was a delight!!)

Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Why don't you tweet Sara. I'm sure she'd be delighted to play more if you told her you listen while cycling across Hyde Park to work while towing your kiddies on a bike trailer, while they listen as well. She might even give you a "shout out".

I shall consider your suggestions, Sir Velo, with the degree of seriousness they deserve!

I agree. Before this season, it wasn't that common to hear baroque music in the two main daily concert programmes on R3, Lunchtime Concert and Po3. Like some others, I would like to hear less of the usual suspects (or at least less familiar music from those suspects, e.g. Handel trio sonatas).

Spot on. It's cost me money though. I've had to invest in the Egarr/AAM Handel organ concertos

And, it saves us from the almost daily Buckeroos and Hoe-Downs! I admit I've enjoyed what I've heard so far, whether I'll feel the same at the end of March ...... I would like less of the Fab Four and more of the lesser known but perhaps, hopefully, we'll get that as the month progresses?

Oh God, yes...
Mind you, a bit of Porgy was trotted out this morning...
