Haven't checked in detail but according to the brief BBC manifesto guide, Respect wants to end conversion of schools into academies. The Greens want to bring free schools and academies under the local authority system. As to whether either of them would require all schools to follow the National Curriculum, I do not know.

Edit; Looking at the Greens' manifesto in more detail they are against a 'strict curriculum', but they do want 'A broad, balanced and enriching curriculum, including creative and vocational areas'.

Looking at the UKIP's manifesto they want to ad first aid to the national curriculum, developing a 'diploma in basic life saving skills' like the French do.

And looking further into the UKIP's manifesto, as well as supporting schools to become grammar schools, they want to copy Germany and the Netherlands by developing 'vocational schools' to focus on children's practical skills.

So there seems to be quite a lot about for those interested in being unshackled from the national curriculum (at least from the Greens, Respect and the UKIP)

On the contrary, children do better in a rigorous thriving learning environment. It's no good complaining about these schools if you've benefitted, but underachieved. Let someone else have the chance.

Edit: and speaking of goalposts, isn't it about time you learned something about football. People that don't like football shouldn't be trusted.

Fagging is open to abuse, so I can't agree with you on that one. The workhouse? I'd say no. Caning. Possibly. It certainly helped keep us lot in check.

I was caned a few times, didn't think it was abuse. It was a different time. Lots of things that were alright then, but perhaps not now. Stop being a drama queen.
