Did they ask her how she felt?
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

I wish someone had asked Mr & Mrs Clegg now that they've entrusted their eldest son's secondary education to a Catholic state school (yes, the same one that Blair did :erm).

I rather like the concept of The Guardian's "Interactive Pontifficator"

            http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/inte...-pontifficator
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
            Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

I would not say there were many good runners- which could be a big disadvantage.

... I see that back on 11 Feb ( # 28 above ) I said that my money was on Scola. I'm not so sure now.

I rather think if I were a betting man I wd now be putting my money on Tagle, the young Filipino Cardinal.

They were talking about "outsiders" on CH news just now - 20 minutes of which was devoted to Jon Snow reporting black smoke.

Have they been using those cheap firelighters from PoundLand?

How flattering, amsey ... there's really no need to hang around waiting.

Mr GG's latest 'fairy' tale is a sniggering nudge-nudge, wink-wink affair that one might expect from a sixth-form school mag and therefore hardly surprising it features in a dumbed-down broadsheet-turned-tabloid like The Independent.

Meanwhile, back to the awesome reality of a huge historical and pivotal world event playing out before our very eyes. Some of the scenes from St Peter's and the Sistine Chapel were truly stunning

I have to say that the Sky News coverage has been excellent far outclassing the BBC in sensible, intelligent comment from contributors.
