Glad to see that we Cockneys have got our language main-streamed.

I was talking about England, not Britain, AH. Or maybe Alex Salmond will demand that England and Wales should be given back to its rightful owners the Picts? Any evidence that the ‘Scots’ – I presume you mean the inhabitants of Scotland such as the Caledonians and Picts before the Scotti (Irish immigrants) – were ever south of the Forth and Clyde and so have a claim to southern Britain prior to that of the Welsh?

But this is getting rather OT.

All right, ‘has got’ if you prefer. Now who could have dragged the Scots into it?

He was of course the last English monarch, though I haven't seen any commentator mention that.
Surely the last English monarch was Harold ?

If Mr Michael Ibsen is directly descended from Richard III's sister - doesn't he have a better claim to the throne than Liz and her Germanic ancestors ?

I reckon our very own Brassbandmaestro could well have the best claim of all with his Stuart, Plantagenet & Magpie connections ... ?

The circumstantial evidence was pretty strong anyway, but the DNA match really removes any doubt at all.

I think someone had a hunch it was him.

I hear Richard the Third has now been officially declared the 1485 world hide and seek champion

                            Shouldn't that be Johnnies-come-lately?

Isn't that a bit like doubting whether Man (and Woman) have actually been to the Moon ... ?

If the DNA and previously alleged bodily deformities and injuries have been largely confirmed that's surely pretty conclusive.

Of course it could all be one big hoax but, if so, there must be one helluva lot of scientists and other professionals in on it.

It doesn't convince me. But then I don't believe everything I am told.
