    I am more personally connected here. I think being a descendant is to why I am rather more reactionary in this thread?

      Did you offer Leicester Uni an oral swab, BBM?

      Might have only revealed a close relationship with Messrs Shepherd and Neame?

      I wish someone would post online a clear pic of those DNA comparison charts one glimpsed briefly in the press conference today.

        It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

          Rather interesting that. I know I am a descendant of John of Gaunt, but as to his third or fourth child(cant remember offhand), I didnt come forward fore an aural swab though. They wanted one of the descendanyts more diorect to Richard III than of mine ancestral roots.

          I reckon there be more Kentish Cali!!

          Edit: They did but need to watch that press conference again.

              Yes - the unlikely name of Michael Ibsen is the Plantagenet descendant...

                  They interviewed someone on R4 - I don't remember the exact relationship, but he spoke with an American accent and assured us that he would not be claiming the throne.

The re-burial of the last English King to die on the battlefield, who has been found and identified by a combination of gut feeling, good old-fashioned detective work, and the latest scientific advances, and who could very easily have lain undiscovered for ever. I think that will be a truly remarkable moment, and a historic one to boot.

                              And there is to be a special museum and exhibition about the whole saga which will be opening next year as well.
