I'm not a football fan by any stretch of the imagination, but actually, yes, I can imagine that. And remember a few over the years as well.

England were dominating play for almost the entire match, bar a few short-lived Scottish attacks. The on-screen stats showed that quite clearly. Entertaining enough, for sure, but exciting? Not particularly.

Went to a couple of those, never a dull moment.
One that I will never forget was at Hampden in May 1978.
Pandemonium when Steve Coppel scored that goal late on,quite frightening,I was very relieved to be on that train heading home.

been to a couple of scary England games, including "Tear gassed in Turin" in 1980, but sadly never been to England V Scotland.
You must have a brave lad going to Hampden.

I used to love the very odd and occasional heart-warming one as well but, unfortunately, we are unable to field any recognised football players at present.

Try us again around the year 2050 when hopefully we might be able to meet your request.

              Thanking you for your enquiry.

PS ... shhhhh, keep it very quiet you real football fans, but I think this is supposed to be a Thugby Thwead ...

well after spending the afternoon watching the Italians give the French a pasting [if only ] ... i will stay up all night and use my entire sweetie ration to watch the Superbowl ....and wonder yet again how a game that takes one hour plus half time takes about six hours to conduct and broadcast .... 49ers if you are at all interested ....

and to extrapolate from the 'allow' thread, no comment allowed here about the commercialisation in the NFL from those advocating car racing as a sport! especially F1 .... [personally i find watching goldfish more fun and kinder on my eardrums]

But, do you remember that heart-stopping moment in 2011 - Italy 22-21 France Italy have been getting better and better and who knows which French team will turn up today .....?

ITALY 23 - FRANCE 18 Obviously the wrong French team did turn up ....
And, if I may say, the match expertly refereered by our very own Nigel Owens (who is also brilliant at stand-up, catch him on S4C's Jonathan Davies' programme)

                        Mais si, Monsieur Jazbo!

Have a good Superbowl. Want to catch some myself, inc. some Mardi Gras atmos in N'orlins
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
                        Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Really exciting match and very tense right at the end when I thought the French would nick it. Avanti Azzurri!

Beeb's Superbowl hype is becoming irritating. I know American football has its followers here but it surely means little to most poeple.

Don't think I've seen or heard any Superbowl trailers...

Nor have I (what a boring waste of time it is as well!) I would have thought you might have had something to say about the lacklustre, lackadaisical, laconic, lazy French who seemed not to know what day of the week it was let alone where they were and why?
Sorry, I do love to see the French avec oeuf sur leurs visages ....
