      Not E?

(I can help with K - Kabalevsky, Kalinnikov. Kapustin, Khachaturian, Kirchner, Kodaly, Kokkenon, Korngold, Kreisler, Krommer)

Time for an edit.............Why do so few composers' names begin with E?

E - and J - are very under represented compared with the percentages in the telephone book.

Are E and J less common starting letters for non-English names?

Probably because composers' surnames are pretty much in line with the percentage of the population as a whole, though I confess I've never actually studied this apparently perplexing issue in any great detail. Flossie, maybe?

In any case there are more than enough divinely composing 'Bs' to make up for any lack of leading literal talent elsewhere ...

Yepes but with doubts about whether it was really Yepes and Ysaye 1 and 2.

I can't offer anything more on Q but there are probably others in obscure places.

There are quite a lot of Belgians and surprisingly few Dutch.

(Can Zappa be rightly described as a classical composer?)
