i wouldn't have any idea, really. Their policy used to be something like this. Once.
That was before we all realised they were just like the rest, after all, and stopped paying any attention to them. Although why there was any doubt is a mystery.
I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own.
Judging by the extremely varied and and horridly, almost capitalistically individualistic contributions of some of our more enlightened members, I think we can now safely, if sadly, conclude that 'true socialism', whether possible or not, is somewhat beyond our reach 'at this moment in time', Simon ...
So, presumably, we might have a cunning alternative tax-plan in mind that we might wish to share with interested forum members ... ?
As Mr GG indicated, you do have a tendency to see things in black & white.
It is entirely possible that most people on high incomes will stay where they are & pay higher taxes. Just because one or two idiots declare that they would leave doesn't mean that everyone would, or even those that say they would, do (rather like the ones who said they would leave if Labour was elected, & then didn't).
(Beefy, you know this isn't that far from libdem "policy", don't you !!)
OMG! I've just realised that my suggestion is almost exactly the same as UKIP's position on taxation from their last manifesto and it will be in their next one!
Excellent, Beefy! ... you have come up with an absolutely wonderful answer ... and justice for the poor included!
And we would almost certainly get more off those rich ******** as well!

Flossie, let me try another tack. ...
A banana costs 50p in a shop owned by Mr Black. Next door in Mr White's shop a similar banana costs 20p. Okay, I hold my hands up ... after many hours of wrestling with my brain what on earth to do I eventually plump for the latter. Shameful, I know, but I simply can't find a Flossie-friendly shop owned by a Mr Brown who wouldn't disclose his price for a banana even if the shop existed.
