    interesting that you heard that as a fact
    and I heard it as a speculative comparison
    and a bit of a naive assumption

    it was a fairly interesting discussion but sad that people fall into the trap of thinking that we have to make a choice between Opera OR regional theatre etc when we need (and can afford) BOTH and plenty more

    I thought several folk also fell into the trap of thinking that quality and longevity were intrinsically linked....... though Bach is worth bothering with

    for once Christopher Frayling managed to avoid talking about cowboy movies !
