    Touring Pantomime "Robin Hood"

If you are anywhere near the venues listed below then you may wish to invest in the Pantomime "Robin Hood" given by the Oddsocks Theatre Group as currently/recently presented at the Queens Hall, Hexham. A great show with most of the traditional panto features ( however, no Principle Boy in fishnet tights, no Dame in drag) , original songs ( few concessions to pop) together with lots of audience participation. The Hexham matinee audience contained enough nursery and first year schoolkids to thoroughly subvert the onstage joke about miscounting, forcing the actors into ad-libbing, to general hilarity. The lefty jokes fell somewhat flat ("Sherriff Andrew Lansley-Mitchell-Hunt"....pause for laughs....nothing!) but there was plenty of more successful topicality elsewhere. A cast of no more than five, have produced a lovely show which this ancient grandparent was delighted to accompany his grandchildren to and hopes that others will enjoy it too. My personal success was to get clapping early enough in the final song to get the audience clapping on the offbeat, a fact of which most of them were completely unaware!!!

Touring in January and February 2013 at Alnwick , Andover , Wellingborough , York , Guernsey , Jersey , Derby , Berkhamsted , Ayr , Telford , Hereford

p.s. I have absolutely no connection with this production.
