"THIS IS THE VOICE OF THE MYSTERONS" plus twin circles moving over the screen freaked me out when I was a nipper

I agree that it's their best creation. The opening titles, down a dingy urban dead-end alley, has a noir quality that is unforgettable http://www.youtube.com/watch?gl=GB&h...&v=bV8YbLvGrb0

Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
    Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

OMG, Destiny Angel - had quite forgot. Something for everyone in that programme, what an impact it must have had on impressionable young minds!

Captain Scarlet: probably the most nihilistic television programme ever devised for children. Every episode kicked off with the Mysterons bumping someone off, only to reanimate their corpse for use as an agent in their nefarious schemes to destroy Earth. And the end credits scared the hell out of me when I was a kid.
all words are trains for moving past what really has no name

Doubt that very much .. it was virtually devoid of human emotion ... can't remember anyone smiling or laughing in it. By comparison, there was believable characterisation and humanity in Thunderbirds and Stingray.

The Angels were Barbie-like puppets, unlike the delectable purple-headed ladies who toiled in the loneliness of UFO's Moonbase...

well personally I remember the 2 cars, BOTH of which I had models of. (didn't usually get stuff like that).
              Magic.

Good gracious... Time-Warp time, ts!! Yes.... me too... in fact I had all 3, I now remember....

I loved the red and the white ones particularly.

How many hours must I have spent creating scenarios, stories...

Sad to see him go - I loved so many of his shows. But I was delighted and surprised to find out that Gerry Anderson had been involved in 'Twizzle', one of the first TV programmes I remember loving.
A bit non-pc and old money for these days but I was fascinated by Twizzle and the noise his limbs made back when things were all black and white.
