    Robin Lustig

By chance I heard the last edition of The World Tonight that Robin Lustig would introduce on Radio Four. He's leaving the programme after twenty-three years. He does seem to have been there for ever, and I've enjoyed his authoritative voice and his precise interviewing style. I shall miss him. As he said at the end of the programme, using a famous radio phrase, 'Good bye and good luck'.

Did I not hear somewhere that Charlotte Green would also be leaving R4 ?

Yes, alas! Both will be much missed.

I'll miss his no-nonsense authoritative style - I hope they find someone equally gifted to take over

I keep hearing, in my mind's ear, 'The World Tonight, Douglas Stewart reporting.'

RL joins a distinguished list of past presenters, including John Tusa, Charles Wheeler and Anthony Howard.

TWT remains a relatively unsung but supreme example of Auntie's art.
