I was reminded of this during Dustin Hofmans Desert Island Discs....and thought it apt to a lot we talk about here....

I was thinking how do I have my fun now....and that is as it has been for some time : going to the woods and gambling around with my dogs, whistling and humming and improvising jazz, Britten, Arvo Part, folk reels, big band stuff....simple fun....don't have to go far or spend a lot....

It may sound odd, but I have a lot of fun cooking. Seeing what's available at the greengrocers, experimenting with herbs and spices, trial combinations of flavours. To me, that's satisfying fun whilst I make it and fun when I consume it. All done to music of course and not costing the earth. I also dance (modern improvisation) that's fun and energising. I sometimes even dance around the kitchen juggling knives.
