      embarrassed by this potential mistake, i have nerdily resorted to the AA road planner who make it 118 miles.

            Oi! I am NOT "of Hereford"! I just happen to be passing through (and have been for far too long, but that's quite another matter and a private one at that). I'm actually one of those dreaded furriners who've come south to England, taking all those jobs an' all that! Furthermore, I am not, have never been and never shall be - world without end (or even Hereford) Amen - a "taxman"!

            That said, the extent to which any thread here might be "safe from" anything is not something on which I feel especially qualified or indeed inclined to comment.
