The most ridiculous light fittings, ever?

My partner's mother has (had?) an ordinary (incandesant) bul in her hall since she moved into the house some 30 years or more ago. And yes, she does switch it on.

She doesn't have dust in her house (it wouldn't dare), but plenty of heat.

I'm wondering if the missing letter is an 'l' or a 'b' - I suspect the latter, but the thought of a glowing thirty-years-old bull is an intriguing one. I'm glad she switches it on rather than turns it on... !

Bloody bulbs, 3 gone this week, out of 10.
Too much heat and vibration, I suppose.

Perhaps its surpising that the FOR3 forum lights don't seem to go out much...........
