Actually, I don't think anyone has seen it. Even the Pope.

Unless you're thinking of the Sistine Chapel.

I didn't see it on my first visit to Rome, but did on my second.

& speaking of the Sistine Chapel, I rather like 'suserration' - although it tended to rise to a hubbub.

(I saw a rather magnificent cistern in Istanbul)

Well, at least it wasn't referred to as the Cistern Chapel (you know, where the Cistercians hung out)...

I checked Wiki and it said Cistine...thats how we spell it in Wiltshire anyway, so there.
Speaking of cisterns.....if that sort of thin pulls your chain, its good that our aristocracy are filling their time well as "custodians of the countryside" etc, and not wasting it writing books about public toilets !

Any of the above (and the preceeding) to be enunciated by Joyce Grenfell or Rowan Atkinson

"Widdershins" has always given frissons, since the infant Caliban was held rapt by spooky tales told by a marvellous teacher at his first school

Some very amusing comments in the past few posts.

One thing I have noticed on my mother's side of the family is how they tend to turn the "an" word into "a".

"Would you like a napple or a norange?"

I sometimes wonder when and how I realised that over a quarter of words didn't begin with "n".
