"Nae more than five meat". A favourite Scottish phrase of mine, which i picked up in the restaurant at ASDA , Livingstone, when ordering the 8 item breakfast.
I assumed it was an old native saying.I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own.

It's because six or more gathered together may be considered to constitute an unlawful assembly, according to ancient Scots law. (Thought to be because the arguments as to who is to buy the next round increase as the square of the number involved.)
