Please may I have a second go? These were brought on by thinking about words to describe the "teeth on edge" words and phrases:

      abysmal, deplorable, egregious

That was fun . anyway rubbish word.

I love pamplemousse , though. What a word.

I'm not allowed pamplemousse on account of my taking a statin - which suits me just fine. Low cholesterol AND no teeth-juddering acidity first thing in the morning - perfick!

Pink grapefruit at the weekend is one of life's luxuries, for me, ammy - sorry about your statin-related prohibition...

But does it have a decent whiff?

                                .

                                squirrel

Apparently a very difficult word for non-native speakers to pronounce flawlessly. And I think the same must be true for this animal in other languages - try

                                écureuil

                                eichhörnchen

                                scoiattolo

A good word in English, French, German, and Italian (I think.)
