Cambridge dictionary says: "two people who are married to each other, or in a relationship with each other, and both have extremely successful careers, especially in politics or entertainment".
So show biz people (the actual coupling might vary regularly) and - do we have political power couples over here? Perhaps Blair and Booth (indicated by the fact that she was known by her own surname). It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

AOriginally posted by Richard Tarleton View Post"Power couple" . Katie was described yesterday as "one half of a power couple", as Clemmy has been. What does it mean? Various BBC presenters, sportspeople, etc. Power over whom, or to do what? A smugly annoying expression.

I took Sir PB birdwatching once (in the line of duty) over 30 years ago, and excellent company he was.
