It's an interesting psycho-linguistic fact (I think I mean fact) that some people slip very quickly into the latest jargon or sayings (youthspeak, mediaspeak, soap-operaspeak, catchphrases) and are consciously inserting them into their own speech; whereas others bring out the garlic and - like me - feel very uncomfortable about using words and phrases which aren't 'their own' (unless they're in a foreign language, which is perfectly all right), mimicking .
I really hate (hmmm, is there a better phrase? - well, it's very noticeable to me, is that better?) to hear older people saying 'awesome, cool, I'm good, thanks, yeah-yeah-yeah-yeah-yeah, yeah-yeah'.
