Matthew Parris, in today's Times, comments on the latest piece of stupid jargon (his words) that he has come across: stood up.

In a letter from NHS chiefs, GPs are told that "each site stood up would need to deliver 975 doses to priority patients". NHS England boasts of "hundreds of ... vaccination centres stood up across the country". The vaccines minister, Nadhim Zahawi, bafflingly exclaims that "we stood up a unit across government ... which was a Covid disinformation unit".

He goes on to conjecture if this is a counterpart to business-speak burble about a project or a person "falling over".

I'm afraid I've never read, or even glanced at, a single issue of Vogue.
I happened to walk past our local surgery yesterday and noticed the absence of the usual vaccination queue - presumably it has been stood down, at least temporarily!
Perhaps Mr Zahawi's Covid disinformation unit is staffed by former Home Office personnel who helped Priti Patel in her fight against counter-terrorism.

This phrase is an anagram of 2 Italian words that might be considered apt, which translate as 'to share' and 'we meet again'

              “Must-have”, “must-see”, “must-buy”, “must-hear”...

(All of them 100% guarantees that I’ll do none of those things)

"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
              Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

                Not dissimilar to 'required reading/viewing'.

                          Was she ever stood up?

                            May we!!
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.
