Well, the story gave me a bit of a lift, I must confess.

‘We’ll come out stronger from this’ has become an annoying throwaway line.

                      Uptick.

Any real improvement on" increase " or " growth " ?

It's use does ( to me) convey a sense that the social media world is more significant that the " real" world......says person posting on internet forum !
Or have I got this all wrong ?

... but doesn't uptick carry with it the visual connotation of a tick ✓ , that is a sharp but small downwards move followed by a significantly longer sharp upwards movement? And as such a useful image (cf V shaped, U shaped, L shaped recovery... )

EDIT - looking online I see I'm completely wrong here/ Ah well, I think my meaning is more innarestin' than the definition offered by dixonaries...

I'm sorry to see that the British economy has suffered such a serious downtick.

Welcome back live football , but "Behind Closed Doors" sounds a bit offside. Any improvements?

It's one of those phrases where the meaning is understood although the actual words used are nonsense - after all at events isn't the door usually closed, to limit numbers, restrict to those who've paid, etc?
