    Roehre, where are you?

There have been no posts from Roehre since September 30 though there was some activity, according to his profile, on October 28.

I very much miss his posts on here and I know others do too. Did someone upset him? Did he think he was spending too much time on here?

Roehre, if you are reading this, we hope you are OK and look forward to your return to the board.

My musical education is suffering without Roehre.

Likewise. The thought occurred to me earlier today, whilst wittering on about trees

No, I don't think anyone upset him! Maybe he's had a month's holiday.
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

                An operatic character ?

My guess is a combination of "alexandeR gOEHR"

When I first joined the old BBC board I did suspect he was the very man, until in one message he divulged his actual age as considerably less than mine!

His knowledge of 20th century and baroque musics is quite phenomenal.

Yes, he did once mention (when he changed to this name) that it is a play on his own surname.

It is actually a German word, meaning a pipe or tube, or a verb meaning to roar like a lion.

Come back, Roehre, if you can - I for one miss your consistently interesting and knowledgeable posts.
