One English string work which doesn't seem to have had a vote yet: Maw's Life Studies for 15 solo strings. Any enthusiasts? My knowledge of it is via an Argo LP (ASMF/ Marriner) with such rotten surfaces that it hasn't had many spins in 35+ years

When this came out I'd been mad keen on the Robert Lowell verse collection of the same title; I can remember little about Maw's piece now, but I bet it will reward the curious.
I'm not sure whether I've missed it somewhere in this thread, but has anyone mentioned the Suk Serenade for strings? It's on my list of favourites, along with Elgar, RVW, R Strauss, Schoenberg et al ...
