Greenock Morton 3 Partick Thistle 1 ... watch out for a grizzly scotty, I'd say
As a fellow Scot on this board, I feel scotty's pain. As a former resident of Gourock, I rejoice in the result, and deplore his remarks anent Morton's alleged foul play. It was probably just the effect of the lingering smell from the bone factory on Baker's Brae.

Tautology note: "Greenock" in the above football result is redundant.

Question for scotty: How much in the way of royalties do Thistle extract from the MCC for pinching their colours?

OT note: In the patois of the west of Scotland, "bampot" is correct. This can sometimes be shortened to "bam", especially if the bampot in question is called Thomas.

Polls have consistently shown for years that between 40% and 50% of Americans believe the world is less that 10,000 years old, and was created in six days (for instance: http://news.nationalgeographic.com/n...evolution.html) Only about 35% of Americans belong to fundamentalist churches, suggesting that many members of other churches reject their own church's position on it. Every few years there is a Supreme Court case about whether some version of creationism can be taught in schools as if it were science (creationism has lost every time - so far). One presidential candidate is a senior figure in a 19th-Century cult that until 1978 believed that black people were so as a punishment from God, and still believes that the Garden of Eden was in Missouri and that senior figures in the church (M. Romney for instance?) are rewarded by being given a planet to rule over after death.

These are not fringe beliefs in the USA, as they are in Europe.

No you don't, believe me ... as a renegade Borderer now resident in Dundee, you cannot possibly have ever felt that wonderful excruciating pain that is quite unique in expressing any sort of support for the legendary and incomparable Partick Thistle ...

I felt it best not to unnecessarily embarrass ill-informed London Welsh rugby fans like our valued Member Amsey by drawing attention to such unfortunate tautologicals, mangerton ...

MCC ..? ... what a thoroughly eccentric name for a football club! ... are they in that league in England, called THE PREMIER LEAGUE or something ?
I do know Barca recently pinched our colours ... ****** poseurs!

I was thinking about the fairly common soubriquet "Tam the Bam".

This presumably is some new-fangled Irish-Scottish hybrid team.

I've been divorced from such sophisticated and formerly familiar old soubriquets far too long, mangerton ...
