And this is one someone voted for ...
Paul Broun a Republican congressman for Georgia who sits on the House Committee on Science, Space and Technology of the House of Representatives has dismissed evolution, the Big Bang theory and embryology as "lies straight from the pit of hell".
Paul Broun, who is running for re-election this November unopposed by Democrats, made the comments during a speech at a baptist church last month. I'm assuming that the Democrats are not opposing him because he can do more damage to the Republican cause from within than from without, but it still worries me that he is on the house of Representatives' science committee.
So ... does he really hold these views or is he the victim of some commie conspiracy against The Truth ?

Tragically, another Republican congressman sitting on the same House Committee on Science, Space and Technology is Todd Akin who made the news recently. This bampot comes from Missouri and sparked outrage and ridicule this summer, after suggesting that it was "really rare" for rape to result in pregnancy.
I just hope that there is some balancing rational scientific input on that there House Committee on Science, Space and Technology
