ahem: "to love" is a stative verb, which does not take the continuous form...

What are stative verbs? Lots of clear explanations and exercises.

"I am loving", "I am wanting", "I am preferring" is, however, regular among speakers of English in the Indian subcontinent. It is not yet standard in London W2...

Grammatically, it's the present continuous tense.

I listen to Radio 3. But I'm listening to Choral Evensong.

        Maybe it should be...

What about the point I make in #15? Quite useful to have the jolly old continuous form, non, vieille chose?
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
        Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

... why don't you say "I am enjoying this... "

That won't offend your governess, your grandma, HW Fowler, - or your vinteuil

I am thinking you haven't understood what a stative verb is!!!

"I am listening" is perfectly acceptable. "I am thinking" that you understand is not...

Vints is nit picking. When I am cooking I say I am loving it (being involved and participating) If you ask me, the day after, I will say I loved it (i.e. the finished result) Actually, love is not a stative verb, is it? How can it be?

But what if I wish to be a tad more enthusiastic?

We are sometimes quite enthusiastic in W2 you know!
