Is Michael Gove as dangerous as he sounds?

It's marvellous having Simon on my 'ignore' list
I feel the same about some others - it really is a useful tool. Having said that, I think that using it too much defeats the object of being involved in the forum for several reasons.

For instance, I haven't put "eighthobstruction" on my list as I think it important to keep a weather eye on the progress of the views of the more extreme and brainless on the far left.

Nurse he's out of bed again !
      but never mind
      as

"that have crippled us and will continue to destroy our society until the final implosion."
we are all going to hell in a handcart anyway........
with our false ideas of equality (hummm wonder where that stems from ? many a wee connection with a certain mr Christ ?)

Can't we just discuss Mr Gove, rather than getting embroiled in Left versus Right. Is there anyone out there who think's Mr Gove's i"policies" are good. (Come on! Show your face! )

Is it his policies or the man himself that people are objecting to?

I do despair with the lack of commonsense amongst many of our politicians. On yesterday's evening news, they had a film clip of the new Shadow Chancellor visiting a training college. He wandered up to some young lads working with screwdrivers on a large panel with 13A sockets and switches on it. "What are you training to be, then?" asked Mr Balls.

And now we have GongGong the "composer" chipping in to show us that he hasn't understood and with another of the intelligent comments that we used to see so regularly on the old boards, viz. "nurse, he's out of bed again".

I know we all have differing abilities, but some people really do struggle to see things as anything other than single unvariable concepts, don't they? It must be difficult to be so circumscribed.

                ===

As regards Mr Gove's policies, Chris, I really can't comment in any detail as I haven't yet studied them and all their possible ramifications. I suspect that few have, and that all the opprobrium is coming from people who dislike the Tories, the Coalition and probably Mr Gove himself, (without of course knowing him), and that they would be against him whatever he did. I've got the TES downstairs somewhere, so I might have chance to look at that this wekend and see if there is any more useful info.

is that the TES from 1956 ?
and is there a special issue for Nutwood ?

So here we go again with captain arrogant and his supposed "intelligent" debate ...................
I wonder if simon is always this rude ? or does he save it up for special occasions ?

Mr Gove doesn't come across at all well in the TES either.

Ruperts is evidently the other ranks name for junior officers as Rupert supposedly epitomises public school values. Personally I always worried that Tiger Lily was Rupert's only recurring female friend. Sorry, this is very off-topic

Don't forget the Girl Guides, Beryl and Janet (and one more guide whose name escapes me). And there's Porky's cousin, Rosalie.

Girl Guides in Nutwood? Sorry, you are more au fait with Rupert than ever I was. Were they Feminists? You do realise Rupert wasn't real? And probably this is enough off-topic but we could introduce Paddington Bear onto the Marmalede thread? I particulary like his stern frown.

Anna, do not dissillusion us. I have always been convinced by the stories of Christmas Tree Fairies. Next you'll tell me that Father Christmas does not exist. Boohoo

I do believe in fairies, they are in fact at at the bottom of my garden. However, I believe Father Christmas was an invention of the Coca Cola company. We should instead look to St. Nicholas. And this is getting further off-topic!!! Let us return to Mr. Gove
