Ah, be fair E-A. That’s like saying ‘If Jonathan Swain gave a speech to a large audience without a microphone, would he sound as good as he does on TTN?’ (He may have a different technique which we (I) don’t know about but that’s beside the point).

I think (or rather, guess), the songs he sang were meant to be sung with a microphone. Moon River sang by a classically trained singer without a microphone would be … excruciatingly embarrassing.
