I wouldn't be surprised if Radio 3 listeners shortly find themselves also treated to an increasing number of invitations to get excited about the Olympics.

... and four Olympics honouring / inspired Early Music Shows in a row?

Talking of which, as a special treat for us* non-sporty types, instead of Bronze, couldn't we have had Brass (Bradley Hardacre) or Lead (Merchant of Venice / Sapphire & Steel) as alternative metals / alloys?

(* said in my best Northen accent.)

0852: relief from the relentless promotion of the Proms in the form of a trailer for the BBC's coverage of the Olympics.

Nielsen S4 on South Carolina Public Radio: no Olympic contest to choose between stations here.

These annoying trailers are just getting worse. So pretentious, sometimes childish, always annoying. If there must be trailers, limit them to 1 every 2 hours, not every 10 minutes!

I noticed that the 'home of' nonsense doesn't seem to apply to the Edinburgh Festival coverage.

I read that as "Home of nonsense" - Edinburgh Fringe coverage

Petroc has just reminded us that Rattle and the BRSO will be performing Mahler's "GARGANTUAN"6th Symphony tonight.

He also pronounced Concertgebouw with what sounded like a voiceless alveolar lateral fricative sound on the ge so he’s on a bit of roll today …

Perhaps he's been attending too many late-night Proms.

Pronouncing gargantuan in the same way would be quite a thing...Groningen with knobs on, which reminds me of this which I found following up an EMS about the Schnitger organ in the Martinikerk in Groningen. It starts with a wry acknowledgement that the placename isn't the easiest to attempt.

I'm afraid that information is classified.

                                Adverts on Radio 3 now?

Just heard one for Children in Need. Thought I must have tuned into CFM by mistake but no.
