But I've always thought of Mahler like that... (The horse is obviously listening alertly.)

!!! - but they're not such as to frighten the horses, though, are they?! - although I do concede that any Mahler symphony is invariably the mane work on the progrmme in which it's performed...

Apologies - if S_A hadn't set the challenge in #109, I'd never have sunk to it.

              It's his blumine fault.

Amazingly, that gem appears to have gone unappreciated!!

"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
                  Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

                      That 's not a new joke - Wasn't that Mahler's first?

Not exactly bizarre, but this was my first Scheherazade. About 1970. Vienna SO/Jean Fournet:

                        I enjoyed this LP.

And the performance was OK as well...

These days it might prompt a police investigation or maybe even a raid by special forces.

A visual interpretation of the composer's nickname! On the musical side I don't think this recording (or sleeve) has been out on CD.

                              Hiya ferneyhoughgeliebte,

                              It's 'blumine' awful.
