No I'm not blaming or getting at you. It's more likely us, and I include myself, we just don't have the in depth musical discussions we used to. (With some exceptions of course).

SPAG BOL and similar, are examples. Strangely enough I'm into cooking at the moment - not very good probably - but I wouldn't want to write about it.

Then there are the many other strange threads which I do not even venture into.

        An apple for the teacher

It's a lot better than nothing and when I see some of the problems, from the sidelines, I'm very glad that I'm not involved in sorting things.

Even Beethoven's inspiration flagged occasionally, so I don't think we should be expecting a messageboard that responds to events not to dip in levels of interest from time to time. For one thing, it reminds me of all the other stuff I really should be doing!

my experience of MBs is that they are often as interesting when moving away from their specific area of interest as when they are focused on the subject which unites the boarders.

I am a long way from the expertise of many on this board, so I view myself as learning from them, whilst throwing in my two bobs worth where it can be of value.
So , If you want an opinion on The B52's , or help with your smoked haddock casserole, I am your man....and if you want to give your considered professional opinion on the orchestration in Brucker 6, then at least I can provide a willing audience. variety is the spice of life, isn't it?
I will not be pushed, filed, stamped, indexed, briefed, debriefed or numbered. My life is my own.

I am not a number, I am a free man.

(Even though B52s are just aeroplanes or rather delicious cocktails, for me )

Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

This cocktail certainly is! Once every 5 years I can neck several with pleasure!

                      Nothing secret about it, though:

                      PS: that clip is insane

if you want groovy at insane levels, there are about 8 albums where that came from. Imagine what they are like live !!

Cheers....My trip to asda next week will be based round buying ingredients for B52's which I shall drink while listening to Georgia's finest....they are a 5 cocktail band if ever there was one !

Edit, or Waitrose....that is a good shop too.

I think there is a lot of good and useful content in the forum.

It is easy to avoid most of the trivia by looking at the thread titles or originators, once known. Unfortunately, as in most news groups or fora, there are always those with political, pc or culinary axes to grind who will take over otherwise interesting threads for their own ends. When that happens, let them get on with it and leave them to it, I say.
