    ..can we ever take this bloke seriously again as a professional historian? ... he is just blowing the neocon trumpet seems to me ... i object to him and his intellectiual sleight of mind being given air time in the uk where our public intellectuals are too lazy to take him on with his imperial theories and neocon hogwash ...

            Have to say, I got about two-thirds of the way through the first one and switched off in utter disappointment, as I said here at the time, at the usual establishment platitudes being regurgitated by a Reith Lecturer, and didn't bother with the remainder.

              That was also my response, S_A - wretched stuff. He seems to be more propagandist or demagogue than historian.
