Isn't there a point that just because an artist slaves away on something it doesn't necessarily follow that it is good. Ken Russell once beat Alexander Walker over the head with a rolled up newspaper in a TV interview for slating one of his films, saying that it represented an enormous amount of work, and therefore should not be condemned. Alexander Walker may have given him a bad review, but nevertheless he came out better in the argument. I suspect that most of the composers on the above list were wise enough to await the judgement of time.
