Impressive, Anna!"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

Well, we enjoyed the diving too. We actually saw some live last Friday. The women's 3m springboard event was great the the atmosphere in the aquatic centre was amazing.
I also take my hat off (or I would, if I was wearing one) to the organisers - everything went perfectly and, on the way there, if we stood still looking puzzled for more than 5 seconds, an olympic volunteer would come over and ask if we needed help.
So a big raspberry to all those who throught we couldn't organise a major sporting event in the UK.Best regards,
Jonathan

Incidentally, how did they perform that magic trick of filling all the seats? Was it:
(a) They weren't really serious when they initially advised that all the tickets had been sold but rather were holding out to rake in as much money as possible?
(b) Sorry, they were just ever so muddled about what had been sold and what hadn't been - it was easily sorted out with just a tiny bit of attention to detail or
(c) Yes, they had all been given to the "Olympics Family" which then held them to ransom over giving the tickets back - my God, don't answer any FOI enquiries about the amounts of taxpayers' money paid out to them in compensation?Last edited by Guest; 12-08-12, 15:25.

Many years ago someone referred to me as 'an effete Southerner'. Fortunately I had the presence of mind to respond "Oi! Watch who you're calling a Southerner!"

As a matter of interest, does anyone feel that Alvar Lidell was a better broadcaster than John Snagge and if so why?
Please answer with specific reference to London 2012.Last edited by Guest; 12-08-12, 20:38.
