Just back from hols where were stuck with Eurosport1, very poor coverage and too many ads on just the one channel. Wow, the BBC coverage/button is superb.

I think questions should be asked of Coe and our politicians about the worldwide coverage. From an economic point of view, this news about European television is very disappointing to hear, set alongside the outrageous position of NBC in America.

Well done Serena Williams who is not as noisy as many, including Sharapova. Azarenka may have got bronze but is particularly unbearable. Murray might now be British - good for him - but how is Laura Robson not Australian? She was born in Melbourne and both her parents are Aussies. That doesn't seem right to me.

The women's football team might have been in with a chance of medals had they not decided to be so divisive. All the focus by some on politics meant that they weren't directing their full energies on the sport. Sorry - I cheered when they were knocked out.

Incidentally, scottycelt, how do I get tickets for the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow? Unlike the Olympics, will there be any priority for people living in Greater London? I haven't been abroad for a long time and need to plan ahead.

Even the commentator had a note of bitterness when he said "Well, you've just missed the enormous cheer as she came in" Where did all the common sense at the BBC go?
