    I think the answer is because they only interview a sample but want to get a general picture of what the population as a whole thinks. If all the interviewees were 65 year old retirees the answers might be a bit skewed.

    The method is very scientific. It's just the interviewees that get the answers wrong.
    It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.
