    Angharad Rees dies aged 63

The Welsh actress has died from cancer. I remembeher in Poldarkyears ago and am sure I have seen her in other things. Poldark was not my usual sort of listening - think I must have rather fancied Ross.

63 seems no age to me now, another one gone. RIP

She did a lot more than Poldark too, Shakespeare and poetry reading amongst them. Read a very good obit somewhere yesterday - her young son was killed in a road accident and she more or less left acting for a while.

            Guardian obituary

Welsh actress Angharad Rees, who has died, was one of the best-known faces of the 1970s thanks to her role in Poldark - but she also experienced personal tragedy.

Irresistible, bbm and ammy! "Poldarki" ! A politically incorrect drama about the West Indian community in Cornwall, perhaps?

Sorry, an irreverent tangent on this thread. Ms Rees was a fragrant televisual ornament to my adolescence. Timeless grace and beauty, I thought
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
              Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."
