Was there a big synch problem at the start of 'Jude'?

His voice is shot, poor old fella ...

Plus I always think it's a pretty inane song, don't like the mindless anthemic la-la-la chanting...
"...the isle is full of noises,
Sounds and sweet airs, that give delight and hurt not.
      Sometimes a thousand twangling instruments
Will hum about mine ears, and sometime voices..."

He dyes his hair - and his voice is ageing - I think he should try singing Hey Jude a third lower - and why Hey Jude for the Olympics?

The lighting of the cauldron was superbly well done. Highly original and effective.

A shame about PMcC, though. A false start, and then a voice that's years past its best. An embarrassing damp squib.

If not, and it's on again, I think you'd love it.
I haven't seen that Caliban but I will check it out.

I am surprised no one else has had these thoughts.

The thing that really pleased me was that in the historical section they especially remembered the NHS.

The other pleasing moment was seeing where my public sector job went. It was the 204th orange firework. I recognised it immediately.

The cauldron was an amazing feat of engineering.
Ceremony should have ended with the fireworks. Macca proved he's well past his sell by date at the Jubbly Concert.
But, a good night was had by all. Who on earth designed the Team GB kit?

                          Quite.

Anna - Team GB had an austerity kit donated by Barry Manilow. Have a very good night's sleep. I'm signing off too.

Who indeed? The gold bits were disastrous.

Agreed on all points. Was the kit designed by Stella?

One other query. Did the commentator say Evelyn Glennie had been "profoundly deaf since birth". If so, isn't that incorrect?
