Is this guy on holiday or do PMs always have so much time to spare ...?

Can't he just clear off to Italy or France like Tony Blair and give us all a well-earned break for a fortnight... ?

Why not, if they are going down the Retro-Route, Kate Bush or Depeche Mode, Dr. Robert & The Blow Monkeys, Morrisey, Stone Roses, Echo & The Bunny Men??? Pet Shop Boys would be so brill!! And what about Marc Almond? Let us hope that at least Robbie Williams will be there ...........
          Sounds thrilling
so sad i'm going to miss it

Surely it would be more in the spirit to have a sequence of the most "inappropriate" musics
          so
a set by the reformed Crass
John Harle playing Panic ( )
          Napalm Deth

          etc etc etc

Hmm, fine idea. I might just turn off the sound of the broadcast and play just such a selection to accompany the visuals. Fortunately I have all those mentioned on CD. I think Sheep Farming in the Falklands would make a good starter, to reflect the rural image at the start of the opening ceremony, that is.

Well, from what Anna has gleaned, I think I will be joining the miseries on closing day.

But until then let me offer posters on this thread this:

At the rate we're going, we could be at 2000 by Sunday. I haven't watched a limpic yet. I'm wondering whether to watch the end on Sunday - just to make sure it's actually happened.

                    999 - Help, murder, polis!

                    Come on, who's next?

                              Done!

As for the earlier posts, I've heard from an unconfirmed source that Kate Bush will be performing at the closing ceremony. Genuinely. If it is true, I can only assume it will be video as it is decades since she has done live.

(Bryn - Sorry. Sheep Farming in the Falklands is less likely. They have had crass already.)
