Right now I'm NOT looking at anything about the Olympics but these miseries on this thread keep popping up at the top of the thread list.

        What bridge?

Getting ready for Usain Bolt at 21.50.

Rearrange the following words to make a well-known phrase or saying:
Mate Horse A Flogging Dead You're
(We've just finished watching the second part of The Hollow Crown. As any fule no, people who watch Shakespeare when they could be watching the Olympics are by definition miseries).

I hope he appreciates your preparations & you enjoy his visit. I'm sure you will both derive a great deal of pleasure from it.

Such awesome self-assurance...you're not related to The Blessed Roger by any chance, are you?

                Why the gruff tone?

It's offensive to say such things here. Anyway, I'm posting positively

Quite wonderful, as usual he looked to be in 7th place for 30 meters, then the inevitable acceleration to 1st, in under 10 seconds.

Oh, I'm on the wrong thread.

Thank you for your report of this event. I can now safely blink during the 2215 BBC1 News in the full knowledge that I won't have missed anything.

I don't know what that makes those 1.25m of us who don't have television and (in my case) wouldn't know where to find Radio 5 Live to help us out either.

I have to make do with these threads ...
It isn't given us to know those rare moments when people are wide open and the lightest touch can wither or heal. A moment too late and we can never reach them any more in this world.

Twiddle your dial, or press a button ... when you hear a hysterical commentator trying to make himself heard above the racket caused by 80,000 screaming, shouting sports fan, you've found Radio 5 Live.

I NEVER listen to BBC Radio 5 Live. Well, I have attempted to in the car but it sounds like a crystal set wireless circa 1920s
